Having mindfulness of ourselves is a loving and caring thing we can do for ourselves. It brings mental clarity to ourselves and our lives. Taking time for meditation, mindfulness, napping and deep breathing increase our well-being and our performance. When we take time to unplug and recharge, the more effective we become.

Dictionary definition of Mindfulness:

a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique

Janice Maturano said, “Mindfulness is about training our minds to be more focused, to see with clarity, to have spaciousness for creativity and to feel connected. That compassion to ourselves, to anyone around us-our colleagues-customers-that’s what the training of mindfulness is really about…. There is no work-life balance. We have one life. What’s most important to you that you be awake for it.”

What is the benefit of mindfulness?

When we take the time to have mindfulness or even take time to meditate, we make better decisions. Being aware of what is happening in our minds is key to building our self-confidence and living our fullest life.

Take time to ask yourself these questions, I suggest writing them in a journey and take time for each question, let the thoughts flow.

· Who are you? What story do you tell yourself about yourself?

· Who do you want to be?

· Who do you want to be in your life today?

When we take the time being aware of who we are and who we want to be, it is key to making a change in our lives, to make things happen that we truly want to accomplish. When we made decisions from a place of self-love, compassion and confidence we accomplish more, create more meaningfulness in our lives. We truly thrive.
