The money we have in the bank, size of our house, or the car we drive doesn’t give us more value or worth than the next person.

Who has more value?

Let’s look at a couple examples to start off.

Person 1: they $1000 in the bank, has a mortgage, but no other debt.

Person 2: they also have $1000 in the bank, pay rent and have $10,000 in student loans.

Person 3: they have $10,000 in the bank, have a mortgage, but also have $10,000 in student loans and have $24,000 in credit card debt.

Who has more value? The point is, we can’t determine someone’s value based on what is in the bank.  We also, don’t determine someone’s value based on a credit score, what size house they live in, what kind of car they drive.  We never have the entire picture.

We may see someone driving a brand-new, high-end car, but we don’t know if they are in debt and making big monthly payments on that car, or not.

We may see someone driving an older car, it is paid for, but we also don’t know if they have other debts or they have a lump sum of money in the bank or are even doing some other investing.

Point is, we don’t know what others financial situations are, but regardless of the size bank account or amount of debt that doesn’t change the value of that person.

We all have value!

How do you measure your worth? Do you find yourself comparing yourself to others?

On one hand when we compare ourselves to others, we can become prideful and think we are so much better than others. On the other hand, we could unfavorably compare ourselves to others and get discouraged. We being thinking that we aren’t good enough because we can’t do something someone else can, or we don’t have enough money, the newest car, the big house. We tend to compare ourselves to others, the lives of others that “look so glamorous.”

One: We are only seeing a snippet of time.
Two: We don’t have the whole picture.

Social media is a façade and contributes to the comparison trap many of us fall into.

What is the expense?

When we spend time worrying about keeping up with the Jones’, it steals our energy and mental space.

Our bank account, house, car, job title, number of followers we have online, amount of “likes” we get, are just a grouping of numbers that we can use as data, it doesn’t make us more or less valuable. One person’s house, car, money, doesn’t determine the value that person has to offer the world. We are all human and we are all worthy and valuable.

Create Your Own Worth

When we change our mindset around the number and or what society says, we become in full control.

· We get to experience true freedom.

· We get to show up as who we truly are.

· We have the mental energy to achieve a goal we have been putting off.

· We can have self-confidence and grow, develop, and evolve into our next best self.

· We live our lives with fulfilment, excitement, and happiness.

Truth is, no one lives without struggles. We all face challenges in different ways.
